We have been praying for the families of these fallen heros. My son, Sgt Stevenson is in Iraq with these men and was a freind of Spc Krout, as well as some of the others. We will continue to pray for the families of these Heros and thank them for the ultimate sacrafice so that we can live in freedom. I continue to pray for comfort and strength for all of the families.
Kurt was a very unique man, and someone I will sorely miss.
He was my mother's only brother, and someone I remember spending many a night as a child playing video games with (Atari 2600 forever!), or pen-and-peper wargames from Avalon Hill and the like.
He was 10 years older than me, and probably the closest I ever will have to a big brotehr in this life.
He lived to be a soldier. The fact that he will rest in Arlington is perhgaps the greatest tribute to his life I can imagine.
I had the privledge of being Kurts Platoon Sergeant for a long time. I know him very well. We both shared a common bond. One a Marine Always a Marine. Also serving in OIF. I will toast to you buddy when I get home. Semper Fi.
Kurt Krout was a great friend of mine that i will dearly miss. He didn't care what others thought of you, he was wise enough to judge you on your own merits. He always had a funny story to try to enlighten the mood of others about how rough it was in the Marine Corps growing up compaired to how we have it now. I will miss him dearly, but he will never be forgotten. It has been an honor to serve with you Krout.
Our deepest sympathies to your family and friends,SPC Krout. My son served with you and along side you. You will never be forgotten. But thanked for being in all of their lives. You taught so much. May God Bless you and keep you. May He shine His light down on all of us, and give us His peace. Amen
I was with Spc Krout in Iraq. He was a great funny guy that made me laugh alot. He always knew the dangers that awaited him but never worried about what might happen. I feel lucky to be able to call him a friend of mine. I miss ya buddy.
Uncle Kurt Krout was more than an uncle, he was one of my best friends. He was one of the most patriotic, caring men that I have ever met and was always there for me, whenever I needed him. He was the one that inspired me to join the military myself.
I will miss you forever.
It's been 2 1/2 years since we lost you Kurt, and I still have many a moment when things are getting tough, that I feel your presence at my side reminding me to keep going. I love you and miss you Uncle. I am now trying to get my commission, and if it goes through, it is all for you!
In the next couple weeks, I will be delivering my first child, who would have been your nephew. I will make sure that my little man knows all about the man who gave everything for his country.
