My husband also mentioned long qtips(medical culture swabs) are good for cleaning weapons. Also, JUNK FOOD...lol. Cigarettes and snuff are good for anyone. If they don't smoke or chew they can trade them for stuff they need or want. Mechanics gloves are good, too, they are heat resistant but still allow you to feel things when seaching people. They go through these like crazy.

some more STUFF...air mattress w/ pillow, gel insoles there are many types to checkout so choose what u think would suit his needs..cigarettes are NOT permitted to ship due to Iraqi customs as well as pork products.corn starch is good for body and to dust off sand. it will keep them cool and help fight chafing especially in the hot season it also releases the sand from the body.A single burner for heating canned goods don't forget a bowl& a pot for cooking.disposable styro bowls r goodsend chocolate and soap now, stock up we can't send after 4/1 due to hot temps.you may also want to send a hand held cassette recorder that takes regular size tapes and small bubble lined envelopes to ship them back and forth get one for u as well so u can record messages from all just to hear a comforting voice be sure to send the batteries too.ramen noodle soup is also a good snack and easy to make even w/ just hot water and light weight for shipping as well as individual snack cups of fruit cup, applesauce, franks and beans ect...we will keep them as comfortable as we can from home but first and for most let us send them our prayers.God Bless All

My husband had asked for shaving brushes (the old fashioned kind you use with soap), pipe cleaners and dental picks for cleaning weapons.
Anyone heard of requests for panty hose to keep weapons in and keep the sand out?

Tobacco products can be shipped the APO regulations only restrict the following... money, obscene pictures or semi-nude pictures/movies, Horror comics, firearms, pork or pork by products (careful sending baked beans as many times these contain pork or pork by products) fruits(fresh), animals and living plants, and alcoholic beverages or products used in the fermentation of alcohol. If you would like a copy of the APO restrictions page they are available at you local post office, just ask the attendant.

We were told no arosole cans. So this would include, shaving cream, and canned air for weapons I would think. Has anyone heard of these NO'S

I'm over here at Summerall, and I don't aerosol cans will be a problem. We can get them at the PX, but it's difficult, because they run out FAST!
The small funnel is a GREAT idea for mixing the Gatorade mix. I just we also had Powerade for a change.
Thanks to all for the support

My wife heard somewhere that our soldiers in Iraq need blankets because there is a shortage. They are cold at night in the field. She is making quilts for them, but we don't know where to send them. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks...Tom Spencer in Port Charlotte Florida

At our school, our junior advisories are working on multiple service projects, with shoeboxes to soldiers being the first. Initially, they weren't very motivated but once they found the various sites, offering insight about what exactly the soldiers need and how it has positively impacted our troops, they quickly became more empowered to see beyond themselves and to get in touch with their altruistic selves.

What is your favorite unusual fruit?
What do you do with it? Where does it come from and where do you find it and what makes it unusual?

Fungi were previously included in the plant kingdom, but are now seen to be more closely related to animals. Unlike embryophytes and algae which are generally photosynthetic, fungi are often saprotrophs: obtaining food by breaking down and absorbing surrounding materials. Most fungi are formed by microscopic structures called hyphae, which may or may not be divided into cells but contain eukaryotic nuclei.
